      OBITUARY AND FUNERAL REPORT: Elizabeth P. Cook Dies, Funeral Held Monday
      Funeral services for Elizabeth Pearl Elton Cook, 82, who died Friday, September 29, 1978 in bountiful, after an extended illness, were held Monday, at 11:30 a.m. in the Cedar Valley LDS Chapel.
      She was born March 3, 1896 in Cedar Fort, to William P. and Rachel Ault Elton. She married William Henry Cook, Feb. 1, 1915 in Salt Lake City. He died Nov. 6, 1952.
      She was a housewife and member of the LDS church, active in Relief Society and MIA.
      She is survived by three sons, John L. Cook, Arthur Q. Cook and Clyde H. Cook, all of Cedar Valley; five daughters, Mrs. Dean (Nettie) Hayes, Mrs. Kermit (Vivian) Dubois, and Mrs. Klaas (Ruth) EeBoer, all of Bountiful; E.M. (Leona) Bird, Lehi, LaVere Creighton, Costa Mesa, California; one brother, David H. Elton, Cedar Valley, three sisters, Amy Blackburn, Salt Lake City; Mrs. S.L. (Myrtle) Hardman, and Edna Strickland, both of Cedar Valley: 26 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
      Glen Hardman offered the prayer with family members, and Ileen Cook played the prelude and postlude music. The invocation was by Arthur Dean Hayes. Bishop Paul Genho, Ernal Cook and Grant Christofferson were speakers. The biographical sketch was given by Beverly Hunt. Paul Peterson sang 'Hills of home' and the hymn 'In the Garden,' was sung by Douglas Calton. A piano solo, 'Melody of Love' was played by Ileen Cook. Steve Dubois gave the closing prayer, and the dedication of the grave at Cedar Valley Cemetery was offered by Rulon Cook.
      Serving as pall bearers were Gerald Lee Cook. Wallace Cook. Lloyd Strickland, Michael Bird, Klass DeBoer, Melvin Cook; and honorary pallbearer William (Billy) DeBoer.
      The many beautiful flowers were cared for by the Cedar Valley Ward Relief Society. (Provo Harold, 1 Oct 1978; Lehi Free Press, 5 Oct 1978)

      Cedar Fort, Utah Co., Feb. 18. - John Cook died at his residence here last night after a lingering illness. He was born at Comstock, Kalamazoo county, Mich., May 22, 1838; was the son of the late Bishop Henry F. and Sophronia Strobridge Cook. The family moved to Nauvoo, Ill., in the year 1846, two months later they moved to Des Moines, Ia., and a few months later to Pottawattami county. In the year 1852 the Cook family came to Utah, stopping at Union fort, Salt Lake county, till the next year, when they moved to Cedar Fort, where they have since resided. Deceased married Miss Sarah Quayle Jan. 5, 1871. He leaves a wife and eight children, three having preceded him to the great beyond. Br. Cook has been an energetic man, always staking an active interest in the growth of the great beyond. Bro. Cook has been petitions against the Indians. He was an honest, industrious man, and generally respected. Two of his sons are living in Canada.
      An effort is being made here to increase the water supply of the town; two companies have been organized to develop prospects in the hills by tunneling into the mountain.
      There is an epidemic of colds and pneumonia in the ward.
